 Great little shakers February 11, 2010

I purchased these shakers to give away Garlic Bread Seasoning in my Christmas goodie bags. There are two different shaker tops, one with smaller holes and one with larger holes. I was disappointed that there were only 8 of each and I had to use the smaller ones. I don't think the seasoning will work well with that top. That was the only negative.

Before purchasing the product, I was looking for a set of small bottles to replace a variety of cumbersome and odd-sized spice bottles on my spice shelf. I wanted something more uniform. The J.K. Adams BCS-16 16 1-1/2-ounxe Spice Bottles, Caps, Sifters Set was exactly what I was looking for. Now my shelf is neat and orderly, with labels that are alphabetized and easy to read.

These jars are used in many of the pricey spice racks, but you can easily do-it-yourself.
Just buy a 1 and 3/4 in. drill bit, and drill side by side holes in a cheap piece of thin wood, to whatever configuration youre putting the bottles in (i.e. a cabinet, counter, etc) and slide these guys in. Look up the spice jar holders which retail for upwards of $130, and you'll easily see how you can make these yourself for $10 and some patience.

Great bottles. Heavy weight, solid fit on the lids. The caps provided aren't the best size for the spices I've put in them so far but the jars are awesome!

These jars fit perfectly into my spice rack. I use them to transfer spices that come in cans and odd shaped containers that don't fit into my racks.
