Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Catch Bowl is the perfect way to help first-time eaters control little spills. The built-in food catcher extends toward the child, funneling runaway food back into the bowl. Made from easy-to-clean soft material, the food catcher flexes when bumped. To help avoid bigger spills, a suction cup bottom keeps the Catch Bowl firmly in place. Made of BPA Free Plastic. Ages 12 mos. and up.White/Blue or Orange/Blue.

5 out of 5 stars my main bowl-- it is dishwaser safe   December 4, 2008
Stefan Grunspan (milky way)
I have been washing mine in the dishwasher for over 9 months and the suction is so strong I have trouble getting it off the high chair tray.

As far as all of the other reviews here that claim the dishwasher ruined their boon bowl all I can think of is that I don't use the dry function of my dishwasher. Besides being a waste of energy the drying element in a dishwasher gets really hot. Hot enough to warp plastic, tupperware, utensil handles, etc.

If your suction is destroyed then I am sure the flap does become a great handle for throwing.

5 out of 5 stars BPA FREE WAS THE BIG CATCH FOR ME!   November 7, 2008

After hearing reports about BPA in baby products, I went through and replaced all bowls, cups, etc. This was my first bowl purchase. I love the colors for my daughter. I bought this bowl entirely for the fact that it is BPA free and wasn't crazy expensive like some of the other BPA free products out there. I only handwash this bowl and the suction works great for us. However, I could care less if it did. It's a great bowl with a very modern look and is safe for my child. That's a BIG plus for me!

1 out of 5 stars Not Dishwasher safe   November 3, 2008

Very disappointed that on the first run through the dishwasher the base warped so much that it can never be used, sitting flat or with suction, again. Waste of money although the deisgn was good.

3 out of 5 stars Great Idea/Design, Bad Material   October 11, 2008

Love this bowl but ran into the same problem: dishwasher warped the rubber parts, the suction cup became useless, the flap warped.

THERE IS A FIX THOUGH: boil it gently for a minute or so in a large pot, then sit it lightly, suction cup down, on a cold flat surface (such as marble counter top). My suction cup adapted back into its functional shape. I flipped over the plate to flatten the still-hot flap the same way, but it didn't get entirely even again.

Since then i have been handwashing my 'acceptable looking' bowl and it never got badly deformed again. It does work very well for it's intended purpose - catching the dribblings...

2 out of 5 stars Don't put it in the dishwasher!   September 29, 2008

I thought this bowl would be perfect for my twin one year olds to use when they practice using silverware. It worked pretty well after I handwashed it for the first use. Suction cup held fairly well and the bowl lip prevented some spills. However, the package says it's dishwasher safe. It's not. After one washing in the top of the dishwasher, both bowls came out with warped suction cups & lips, so they won't suction to the highchair anymore & the lips look funny. As long as you always handwash it, it should be fine.
