5 out of 5 stars Love love love   November 19, 2008
Lynn V (USA)
I own two of these mugs, a silver and a black, and I ADORE them. I got two for $20 as a lark, but now I would pay double.

Little background: I'm a klutz. I'm that girl that you see walking around with tea down the front of her shirt, drink stains on the seats of her car and always a freshly mopped floor because of constantly knocking over cups. My husband calls these my "sippy cups" because I now use one for everything I drink.

They haven't leaked, they fit in my car's cup holders (and don't get in the way of anything else because there's no funky handle), I can drop one down the stairs and it takes it like a champ without spilling a drop, and they're really sleek looking. Oh, and unlike plastic mugs (which can leach chemicals, yikes!) they never hold a smell or taste from a previous drink, even if you only rinse it out. I keep one by the bed to keep dust (and cat paws!) out of my nighttime water, which I normally knock over when reaching for. The only complaint I have is that my black one looks a little scuffed up from the rough treatment, but it still functions. I didn't quite follow directions and did stick both parts of the mug in the dishwasher a few times recently (only the top is labeled dishwasher safe) and to my surprise they didn't rust! My personal opinion? Best drink container out there, hot or cold.

5 out of 5 stars Best Coffee Mug I've ever had   November 16, 2008

I've had numerous coffee mugs in the past including nissan, tredeau and many others. This Contigo West Loop mug by far keeps coffee hotest the longest, it's easy to clean, and very stylish. I like the lack of a handle because it fits in car cup holders well. I will by more!

This is the perfect car cup. No spills--ever. Nice to hold. Easy to use. Keeps it hot.

5 out of 5 stars Ice Cold Beverages in the Hot Summer Sun!!   October 8, 2008
A. Pleasants
Some of us are just hot bodies. Summer, winter, whatever we just want our beverages ice cold. Here's what sold me: August 2008 (7:00 AM), my mom had two of these mugs and we filled them with ice water for a road trip to a funeral. During the three hour drive from Maryland to the deep country part of Virginia, I sipped some water. We attended the funeral, stayed for the repast, and visited with the family. The mug stayed in the car in the ridiculous heat and humidity from 10AM to 6PM. When we got in the car for the drive home, I had cold, cold water with ice!! I pledged my loyalty to the mug right then.

I use mine at work, where 75 people fight over the limited ice produced by a mediocre residential caliber fridge/freezer ice maker. I get ice in the morning and have cold water all day long.

Issues mentioned in other posts:
Threads - Never had an issue or problem
Spitting - Cold beverages are polite. They don't spit when vacuum seal is released
Autoseal - I am clumsy. The last time I rode with mom I spilled milk on her carpet and had to hear for two weeks about how it "still smelled". When I dropped this mug (and I did)no worries.

2 out of 5 stars Close but no cigar!   September 23, 2008

Not the cheapest and certainly not the best. Seal is suspect and one needs to constantly check the top. If not on perfectly, you will wear your drink. The squeeze button does not always seal properly so a little liquid is trapped in the top and you dribble when trying to drink. It does keep things hot and/or cold, but that is not enough with all the other good non-spill mugs on the market.
