 great idea but does not fit... October 12, 2008

I was so happy to see this product. I just paid $180 for an in home Whirlpool water cooler. The cooler has a very small opening for water bottles and its always a huge mess to change them. This was just the ticket. Unfortunately after receiving this I tried to put it on an Arrowhead 5 gallon bottle...did not fit. Arrowhead 3 gallon bottle...did not fit. Sparklets 5 gallon bottle...did not fit. I'd like to know what bottles this is made for. For these reasons I give this 1 star. I'd give it zero if I could. Great idea but if it does not fit it's worthless!
No Splash Cap Is All Wet July 10, 2008

Do not buy this item if you intend to use it on bottles loaded onto a water cooler/dispenser that has a piercing valve inside the bottle support collar reservoir. The water bottle will not sit completely into the water cooler's bottle support collar when the product is installed...bottle wobbles. Am giving this a one star because the vendor continues to advertise that the product will work with water coolers, neglecting to mention this application limitation nor adjusting their product description.

...unfortunately, it's poorly executed. I'm unsure of crocks, but a standard cooler has a rod that goes into the water bottle. On the delivery bottles, the rod usually pops a center cap (same place this ball sits) and lets the water flow once the bottle is in the cooler. The cap sits on the rod and the bottle usually will reseal itself if you take it of right. The solution is simple and yet, utterly brilliant. I had thought that this product would have done something similar, but unfortunately, it wasn't designed exactly right. The shaft that the ball sits in is not long enough to handle most cooler rods and the bottle is wobbling on a ball about a half an inch off of the sides of the cooler bowl that it's supposed to be flush to. Thankfully, I didn't try it with a full bottle.
Honestly, I would love to recommend this product. I would LOVE for it to work with the screw cap bottles (48 neck), but while close enough to taste the solution I wanted so bad, this product falls short. DANG! In this case, an extra inch could have made all the difference in the world.
