Verona lifts the spirits with its pretty details and mix of colors. Inspired by a long tradition of Italian pottery, this pattern is likewise made of hand-painted earthenware so that slight variations from piece to piece add to its charm. The salad plate is particularly eye-catching with its ruffled rim, bright green border, and blue floral center with a splash of orange. Creating a perfect frame for the salad plate when used as a charger, the dinner plate features a border of radiating stripes in three shades of blue. Taking their cues from the plates are the pale green soup/cereal bowl, also with a bright-green ruffled rim, and the mug with both stripes and flowers. Matching pitchers, serving bowls, and other accessories help set a table that welcomes guests and family alike. Inspired by the fields and vistas of Northern Italy, Verona features bold, stylized florals rendered in an indigo wash and accented with scrolling vines and a delicate tangelo orange bud. Alternating indigo, azure and denim stripes circle the outer border. Gently "ruffled" rims add lightness to bowls and accent pieces. Hand-painted.Microwave, and dishwasher safe. These are extremely pretty and whimsical and we absolutely love our dinnerware sets. The mugs are shaped like a tea cup, but big enough for soup. The bowls are deeper than they look and the small plates are actually wavy like the sides of pie crust. If you like dainty china, this set is not for you. These dishes are thick and durable, that's for sure. We luv this pattern and we are huge Pfaltzgraff fans! You can't go wrong with this product!
