I ordered two sets of the Chile Red dinnerware 8 months ago. These dishes do not have a single chip or scratch on them yet, which is a testament to their durability because my husband and I handwash our dishes and are not always the most gentle with them. They have been bumped against the sink and cupboards many times. I even dropped a coffee mug on the kitchen floor once! As other reviewers have said, these are very large and rather heavy dishes, but I like them. Because of the size of the dinner plates, we usually use the salad plates for our meals instead. However, if you are planning a large meal, you will have no problem getting all your food onto the dinner plates. The bowls are huge, so if you have problems with portion control, these dishes may not be for you. You can definitely overload if you're not careful. Overall, I would say this is a great set of dishes to get if there are only adults in your household or your children are close to the teen years. I don't think I would want young children using these dishes because of the size and weight of them.

As others have mentioned, these are ultra heavy and large. The Indigo set is more of a royal purple, and has a lot of matte black on the outsides and undersides of plates and bowls. I ordered the "modern square" version, and the photos do not show how the plate edges are swooped and wavy. I can't get the 4 dinner plates to stack neatly. The rims of the mugs are thick and designed with a round interior stuck into a rectangular exterior, which makes for an awkward coffee drinking experience. Even for the bargain price ($48.95) and free Amazon Prime shipping, I can't live with these dishes. I would have given one star, but Amazon's customer service and fast shipping bumped it up to two.

I brought three sets of the Bay Leaf Green. One set arrived damaged from shipping. Customer service was great! I returned the set for free and received a new replacement set within 3 days. I love the dishes. They are very large and heavy. They look wonderful on my dining room table. Thank you.
