I didn't think my family would actually like the design, but they did. I just needed a plain old butter dish that wouldn't shatter. I'm glad I spent the extra money on this. By the way, it almost fits in the clear plastic butter compartment on my refridgerater door. It is only slightly too wide. I keep it in that compartment anyway.
