This stylish, 10-cup programmable coffee maker allows you to wake up to a carafe of freshly brewed coffee. Sensuous curves define a sleek, contemporary styling that will feel at home in any kitchen. The wrap-around housing minimizes heat loss from the 10 cup glass carafe while protecting it from accidental spills and breakage. The powerful 1100-watt heat pump brews hot, rich coffee, and a sophisticated electronic temperature control directly monitors the heat pump to brew, and keep, coffee at optimal temperatures. The flat-bottom brew basket holds a uniform depth of coffee for improved coffee flavour, and an extra-wide showerhead coaks the filter basket evenly with hot water, ensuring uniform coffee extraction and outstanding flavour. The water reservoir fills from the top, at the front of the housing, eliminating the awkward reach required for many coffee makers (it can also be filled from the back). The brew basket and reservoir are accessed by lifting the innovative split-lit, which maximizes the working space around cabinets. Dedicated one-touch buttons make operating the coffee maker simple; the control pad is sealed against spills and is easily wiped clean. An easy-to-set 24-hour timer brews coffee at any time, and a "time since brew" display allows you to determine freshness at a glance. I bought this product because I loved many things about it. I was very dissapointed when after only 4 months it quit working with what KitchenAid called an internal error. They replaced it quickly and the new one quit working with the same error in only 3 days. I called again for a replacement and they are upgrading to a newer model.
