Amazon.com Review
This powerful citrus juicer delivers an unlimited amount of juice directly into a container through an antidrip spout. If you need to interrupt the juice flow, the spout snaps into a locked position. Easy to clean, the juicer is made of hard, gleaming plastic and comes with a clear plastic dust cover to protect the juicing cone. Its black and brushed stainless steel design and sleek shape add a modern spin to any countertop. --Fred Brack

5 out of 5 stars Ignore the negative reviews on the Cuisinart CCj-100 juicer   January 3, 2009
Jay Ford (Southern California)
At first, I actually wanted a juicer that contained a tank in which the juice would flow into. I alos only wanted to spend 25 to 30 dollars on a citrus juicer and wanted to buy one in a store in case I wanted to take it back. Well, I bought Cuisinart CCJ-100 at a local store because the type with the tank was unavailable. When I got home, I researched my purchase and found all the negative reviews. I was very concerned. I removed the unit from the box, rinsed it off, picked three large oranges off my tree, cut them in half, and juiced them into a two cup mug. Wow, this little beast has some torque. It did move a bit on my granite countertop with the first half, no spill onto the counter. The other five halfs juiced perfectly by holding the juicer with one hand and pressing the orange down firmly on the juicer. Had no problem with the reverse feature. Was very easy to clean, just rince off the strainer and the base and let it dry. The motor is a high torque motor which is a good thing as other juicers the motor stops when you press down too hard. And I will mention I do like the fact that I did not buy a juicer that has a tank, too much to clean, I like simple things. The juice was perfect, just the right amount of pulp. I am very happy with my purchase and would most certainly recommend this to others. Reading the negative reviews was a good heads up so I knew how to handle the unit.

1 out of 5 stars Complete waste of money and time   December 30, 2008
E. kimberling (california, us)
I was so excited to buy this item because it looked so nice and it was compact well looks sure are decieving. When you try to press the fruit down onto the grinder the whole machine goes sliding all around the counter and so the spout misses the bowl and the juice goes everywhere. Also, the spout is so short that you can't even get it to pour into the bowl and goes running down the side. It also has so much juice just sitting on the sides that don't even make it to the spout. Horrible product.

1 out of 5 stars Worst Orange Juicer Ever? Quite Possibly   December 25, 2008

This product is bad enough that I am posting a review on an appliance for the first time. It is really is as bad as everyone else has mentioned. Do yourself a favor and go for the Black & Decker or the CitriStar models. This is worst product I've ever bought, it fails at something so simple.

5 out of 5 stars So functional!   December 20, 2008

Powerful, effective, very easy to clean. Love it. Wish it were smaller. Cuisinart used to make a tiny one. Lemon drops anyone?!

3 out of 5 stars Looks good and makes lots of juice   November 16, 2008
fast_matt (Dallas, TX USA)
I was roaming through the wilderness of a local electronics store, desperately seeking my next margarita. The night before, my Zinbo juicer had died suddenly and violently... a loud "snap" announced its broken driveshaft.

I was looking for a more reliable companion that was enjoyable and easy on the eyes, but prima donnas need not apply.

This juicer seemed to fill the bill. It looked and felt solidly made, and the smooth brushed stainless shape looked good on my counter. Plenty of power and a good reamer design - whatever the citrus, this juicer takes it down to the rind without slowing down and gives tasty, pulp-free juice without any bitterness. For that I respect and adore it.

I like the use of a spout rather than a pitcher; single drinks go straight into the glass with less to clean. It's perfect for mixed drinks that call for juice of 1/2 lemon + 1/2 orange + 1 lime, etc. In addition, lack of pitcher = shorter driveshaft + more space for motor = sturdier drivetrain.

The fast-spin feature is nifty but doesn't give THAT much more juice. The container traps more than the fast-spin releases. After fast-spin, lift the juice container and tilt it slightly toward the spout and you'll be rewarded. From what I've seen, fast-spin + tilting gives an extra 5% at most.

Now... many criticisms leveled by previous reviewers are correct if sometimes overemphasized.

This juicer is good but it's not perfect. Here are the changes I'd make:

1) The juice spout should be longer. It works, but I make sure the surface below is easy to wipe. Must use free hand to stabilize the juicer that's moving instead of the glass that isn't.

2) The rubber feet should be more widely spaced. It appears "cord storage" was inserted between feet and outer rim. Lose the storage, move the feet all the way out, and it might not be necessary to manually stabilize the juicer to keep it from walking.

3) The reamer does fill up fairly quickly. I don't know if this can be readily designed out without sacrificing efficiency. The jam often appears to be the diabolically-strong part of the fruit just inside the rind. However, the sink sprayer clears reamer and strainer in no time.

4) The bottom of the juice container should be shaped like a half-bowl with a deeper channel leading to the spout. This would eliminate the need to lift and tilt to rescue juice trapped by the flat container bottom.

Rummagers, move on... it may not be perfect, but I'm not getting rid of this one! It does what I need, and does it well.
