Works great January 9, 2009 Michael W. Fuller Got it as a gift for my wife as her original, 10 plus year old, George Foreman is getting mighty old. She loves the new one, especially the ability to remove and wash the cooking surfaces in the dishwasher.
works great but!!! January 8, 2009 RAM (Las Vegas, Nevada) Nice Looking,so far it works great but the quality of the unit leaves you wondering how long will it last? The feet fell off the unit as it was being taken out of the box. I didn't even know they had fallen off until I found them on the floor. If the will skimp on the outside where it is visible imagine what could happen on the inside.
Not as good as it seems January 8, 2009 Sandra Maxwell (Santa Rosa CA) I had very high hopes for this grill only to be disappointed ... it does not have evenly distributed heat, most of the heat is directly in the center, not reaching the outter areas. I was also disappointed to find out that it did not come with the waffle plates. :o(
Pretty good product...Very poor customer service January 8, 2009 Dean Dauphinais (Grosse Pointe, MI USA) I've had this George Foreman 360 grill for about two weeks now, and overall I'm pretty happy with it. I've used it to cook sandwiches (basic grilled cheeses and more elaborate "paninis"), quesadillas, burgers, steaks, and boneless chicken breasts. Everything cooked up nicely and quickly--with visually appealing grill marks--and I was amazed at how easily the grilling plates cleaned up. The non-stick coating really seems to be top-notch and I was able to do most of the clean up with just a damp paper towel. Although they are dishwasher safe, I can't imagine ever needing to put the grill plates in the dishwasher. But I guess it's nice to know that you can if necessary. While the performance of the grill is good overall, there are a couple of negative things that bug me a bit: 1.) The round shape might lend itself well to making quesadillas and pizzas, but I think it limits the usage of the grill for things like burgers and sandwiches. On a couple of occasions, I found myself wishing that the thing was rectangular instead of round. 2.) The overall construction of the grill feels a little cheap. This is especially true of how the plates attach. They sort of clip on to the unit, and they never really feel like they're on very securely. The sliding temperature control also feels very cheap and flimsy. The two negatives listed above really aren't THAT negative, as long as the grill works properly (which it has so far) and lasts a long time (only time will tell). But I must also relay a very negative experience I had with the grill manufacturer's customer service department. When I first received the grill, took it out of the box, and set it on the kitchen counter, I noticed that it slid around a bit. I looked on the bottom of the grill and noticed that one of the two little rubber feet was missing. The rubber feet are inserted into little holes on the bottom of the unit and come out pretty easily. Anyway, I looked all through the box and the packaging and the missing rubber foot was nowhere to be found. No problem, I thought. I'll just call the manufacturer's 800 phone number--listed in the manual as the number to call for replacement parts--and they'll send me one. After all, the grill has a warranty. Well, long story short: I called the manufacturer and was told by the customer service rep that the little rubber foot is a part that isn't available from them and that there's no way they can send me one. HUH??? I found this hard to believe, so I asked to talk to a supervisor. Indeed, she confirmed what the previous person had told me. The little rubber feet are not offered as replacement parts and there was no way she could get one sent to me. She suggested I return the grill to the place of purchase and get another unit. How ridiculous is that? This little rubber foot probably costs about a penny (or less!) to make. And instead of mailing me a replacement, the manufacturer told me to ship this entire 20-pound item back to Amazon to exchange it. My solution? I went to my local hardware store, which sells George Foreman Grills, and explained my situation. The clerk there was nice enough to take one of the rubber feet off of their display unit and gave it to me at no charge. "Merry Christmas," he said. Problem solved. But what a crazy customer service experience. It made me wonder just what kind of replacement parts are indeed available. But, more importantly, it also made me hope that I never have to call the George Foreman Grill's customer service department again.
