5 out of 5 stars Good so far.   November 8, 2008

I purchased the product at Meijer store and when back home was scared by disappointing amazon reviews. However I still started manual reading and gave it a try today.

The manual is difficult to read. Took me about 30min to understand everything. You need to rotate the base hard to get it locked in position. Lid can be locked easily afterwards.

My main purpose is to ground meat. And this works much better than my old 3 cup kitchenaid. It's bigger blade and chop everything in a bigger volume. You do need to close the slide to the side opening and the top. Then I proceed with mincing vegetables. Used slicer on the top and chopper at the bottom. Works perfectly.

Keep in mind you need to read the manual and fully understand the fuction of all parts before you proceed. If you make mistake in one step, it will not work.

This food processor is cheap and can handle almost all solid foods like patato, carrots, cucumber etc. Would recommend to anyone.

Agree with the other reviewer and add in like wise----bowl cracked on bottom and the top went off center easily making for a lovely smelling burning plastic (and yes---I know how to use a blood food processor). The company is generally a good one---love those hedge trimmers, but think a chain saw might be more along the manufacturers lines. Was a poor replacement for the kitchen aid that fell apart after LONG years of use. Cheap for a reason. Do they make a better model???

1 out of 5 stars Shoddy quality   July 2, 2007

The motor is not strong enough even to grate mozzarella cheese - I'm not exaggerating: it really does stall when grating cheese! And a part of the plastic lid snapped off under normal use conditions within a week of purchase, so I have to hold the lid down with one hand while using it. They should be ashamed to put such a shoddy product on the market.

This model is perfect for chopping and slicing onions, garlic, shallots, peppers, carrots, cheese and any other vegetable or solid product you can think of! Also this is great if you don't have an immersion blender for bisques or chunky soups that need to be chopped until almost pureed. If you're making anything liquid like a vinaigrette or pea soup, it will get messy with this model. I just use my blender for that. It works out much better. Hopes this helps!

1 out of 5 stars Wal-Mart special   August 7, 2006

This processor is a waste of money. It worked for all of six months. The chute design was also annoying--it didn't work as intended, and once you lose the little plastic guard piece, it only serves to make a mess. Do yourself a favor and spend a little more on a processor that isn't being produced as cheaply as possible per Wal-Mart's requirements.
