Whether it's crumbs, spilled coffee, or dust, when you need a quick solution to a small, dry mess, grab the Dust Devil. Its lightweight, compact design makes this hand vac ideal for cleaning corners and dry particles on hard surfaces. Its unique triangle nozzle has retractable bristles, perfect for dusting surfaces and window ledges. The Dust Devil includes a crevice tool (which stores conveniently in the hand vac) and a clear dirt cup that lets you see when it's ready to be emptied. The dirt cup release is quick, although you've got to press the button at just the right angle to get it to unlatch. The cordless design features a rechargeable battery and charging base; the only disappointment is that the battery only provides about five minutes of vacuuming before needing a recharge. Be sure you fill out and mail in the warranty card included in the package so you can take advantage of Dirt Devil's two-year limited warranty. --Ariel Meadow Stallings

 Expensive, Gutless, Short-Lived, Irreparable January 20, 2005
It only had any real vacuum power when quite new.
I can't get filters here in Canada, and I also read the (poor) NiCad battery is not replaceable.
This one's only a few years old, cost too much money for its performance and short useful life.
Yet the hardware and motor are all in fine shape as I toss out this nice looking red machine. Pity.
What a stupid waste. It's a landfill-generating design. Based on this experience (read: getting screwed by the Corporate Greed Machine) I will never again touch this company's products.
Don't Bother With This One December 31, 2002
I do not recommend this product.I have an older model, but the product seems about the same (IE recent reviews state similar problems). 1. It hardly holds a charge. I don't find it convenient since it only works for a few minutes. I realize it's not supposed to replace a full vacuum, but I'd still like to be able to go around the baseboards of more than one room to pick up dust bunnies. 2. It doesn't suck much. It picks up very light dust bunnies, but little else. 3. The retractable brush is only about 1/8 inch deep, and mine got stuck in the out position. 4. The attachements are of no value. 5. The battery can not be replaced, so there is no opportunity to improve the poor "5 minutes only" charge. Forget this product. My parents have a similar product from a different manufacturer and it works MUCH better.

 A handy little sucker! November 12, 2002
This Dust Devil rocks! It is lightweight, quiet, and powerful. However I have found it to clean more effectively on bare floors than carpeting. I store it in a convenient spot in our kitchen, in the corner right next to our refrigerator. I use this vacuum mainly in corners, on our furniture, to pick up crumbs underneath the kitchen table, and even on the stairs. I have been very satisfied with its performance. The biggest pain with this vacuum is emptying the dirt cup and cleaning the filter. Dust flies everywhere, then I start sneezing! Overall, this heavy duty sucker is worth every penny. We haven't had any problems with it yet!

No power. Doesn't pick up cat litter. Can only use it for 5 minutes at a stretch. I'm really regretting purchasing this.
