Product Description The Rowenta Dr5020 Steam-n-Press Steam Brush blows a burst of steam as it brushes fine clothing when ironing is inconvenient or impossible. The key difference that makes it stand-out beyond other steamers is that the Rowenta really does the job and does it quickly and easily. Burn Hazard January 3, 2009 J. Krzywicki (PA) I optimistically tried it once following the directions and burned my thumb pressing the steam button. Don't waste your money.
Excellent buy for traveling young professionals (esp. lazy guys!) December 26, 2008 Prof (United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm a 30-something male professional, and I got this for xmas this year. So far, only used it for a few dress shirts and a wool sweater vest, but it has worked very well. The reviewer named "LetsGoMets" writes a very accurate and complete review, and I'll add my additional comments here. AT HOME: I'm not the sort to iron a bunch of shirts right after taking them out of the dryer. Usually, when I'm at home and I've got a wrinkled shirt, I sprinkle water on it and chuck it in the dryer, or go ahead and iron it. If I chuck it in the dryer for a few minutes, it doesn't come out uniformly unwrinkled. And it's a hassle to iron: I gotta go downstairs, take out the ironing board, etc... This steamer is cheap and I no longer need an ironing board to get the wrinkles out. ON THE ROAD: I tend to chuck my dress shirts into my luggage. So they're wrinkled by the time I take them out. But I can't stand using the hotel iron and most of all, the hotel ironing board. I never know what those hotel room irons and ironing boards have been used for... This Rowenta Ultra Steam product is great for professionals who are on the road, chuck their dress shirts into luggage, don't want to use hotel ironing boards, and still want to look dapper. I completely steamed two (very wrinkled!) dress shirts and a sweater vest with two full water tubes (in other words, one refill). It took me about 3 minutes to steam a shirt. Note: I'll look to update this review with additional comments after I use it for a few more months.
this is a piece of garbage, avoid December 5, 2008 Herman Glimpsher 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It managed to release a useless puff of steam on the first try. Then it broke down completely.
Worked once November 24, 2008 William F. Lacy 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It worked very well the first time it was used. Unfortunately, it has not worked since. I believe the pump died.
Nice little steamer November 11, 2008 customer I just purchased this steamer based on the high reputation of the brand name. I found it to be extremely easy to use, and that it was comfortable in my hand. I never felt that it was dangerous and never felt the heat on my hands. It worked extremely well on natural fibers like wool or silk, as well as most knits. I didn't have great results with man-made fibers.
