3 out of 5 stars Eureka Quickup - what do you call a hand vac?   January 6, 2009
    C. Dean (Memphis area)
This vacuum was ordered because the description says it converts to a hand vac. ALL that you can do with this vac is unscrew the pole handle at the top. The part that resembles a "dust buster" does not come apart from the base that you use when cleaning a floor. Would really want to go to the trouble of unscrewing the handle, only to have to pick up the entire unit to use on your furniture?? I am very disappointed in the presentation of this model. On the flip side, the suction is very good and it is lightweight and handy.

5 out of 5 stars LIGHT, PORTABLE & IT DOES THE JOB   January 4, 2009

Have used ( on a daily basis ) this unit for over 6 months, and it's still going strong. This little unit really picks up the dust, dirt, dog hair, dog kibble, dust, crumbs, sand and debris. I'm amazed at how much stuff is collected in the dust container!!! You have to empty it after every use....or you'll loose suction....it's that powerful. I love the fact it comes with a wall charger, so it's always charged and ready to go. I use it to vacuum up sand and dog hairs off the pontoon boat in the summer, salt from the rugs in the winter. It picks up hard dog kibble without any problem. I can do the livingroom, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and 2 bedroom rugs, plus hallway and 12 stair steps with NO loss of power.
I like the fact it has 2 brush settings.....one for hard floor( no brush action) and one for the carpet (burshes rotate).....and if you want to get into tight places, the long handle wand detatches. It's great on stairs, under sofa's table's, under the bed. We liked it so much, we bought a second one for our vacation home. I have two "shorthaired" dogs, and it actually picks up their hairs. I use a little hand held wisk brush to clean the inner filter... and wash it once in awhile when it gets really gross.
Only "con" is I wish it had a "side rotating" brush to sweep debris from along the baseboards or furniture. But most vacuumes dont have that feature either. If this ever goes kaput.....I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Again, most important thing is to empty the DUST CONTAINER AFTER EVERY USE OR TWO AT THE MOST, and check the roller brushes for fuzz build-up.
I also suggest ordering an extra filter (part #61544)& belt(part #56334) to have handy.

5 out of 5 stars Great Little Quick Pick Up Vac!!   December 16, 2008

Just what I was looking for. Powerful enough for most quick pick up jobs.
Plus NO cord to deal with!!

    5 out of 5 stars Eureka Cordless/rechargeable Vacuum, Model 96 D/F   November 1, 2008

This is the second one of these I have purchased within 6 months time! Need I say more? Of course it's not so powerful as those 20-pound plugged in models, so don't expect that kind of suction. But for quick pickups, or if you cannot carry the big ones up and down stairs, this is a satisfactory substitute. The rotating brush slows it down just a little, but it's worth the tradeoff to pick up lint, etc., on carpet. I highly recommend it... and the price is right!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for Hard Surface Floors   October 18, 2008
    Gift Card Customer (Evansville, IN)
I've owned this vac for over a year and have to say that it's perfect for what it was intended. My entire kitchen and living room area are hard wood and constantly have a host of crumbs and dirt from shoes from my husband and kids. We don't have any pets but we have plenty of crushed Cheerios from my 1 year old and 5 year old.

First off, this is the second cordless vac I've owned and I was constantly frustrated w/the bad battery life of my old one. So right when I bought this I went to the website and bought an extra battery. Do yourself a favor and do this!! I leave one plugged in all the time and switch out before each time I vacuum. (manual says it's ok to leave plugged in all the time without damaging) This way I always have a full battery and have plenty of juice to sweep the whole floor.

Let's be realistic...this is basically a Dust Buster on a stick. I didn't replace my main vacuum with this but have found that it has excellent suction on my hard wood floor and has no problem at all sucking up daily debris. In fact, it does better on my hard wood than my Hoover. Will it pick up entire Cheerios at a time? No, but it's not a shop vac folks!

I empty the dirt cup about every other time and when the filter gets gross from wool fuzz from my area rugs I just use the hose from my regular vacuum to suck it clean. (I've also bought a couple of replacement filters over the year from their website but only have replaced it once.)

I love this vacuum and have recommended it to all of my friends.
