Product Description The Classic cutlery series remains the first choice of professional chefs and discerning home cooks worldwide. J.A. Henckels has been manufacturing fine cutlery since 1731. All Henckels knives are forged and feature ultrasharp blades enhanced using the Friodur ice-hardening process. Boning knife pictured second from top. Lifetime warranty.
Amazon.com Review Cooks with small hands find this version of the classic French chef's knife fits. The broad blade with its curved cutting edge rocks easily through chopping tasks. Henckels' International Classic is a moderately priced cutlery line made in countries other than the company's home of Germany. The steel is of lesser quality than that used in its premier lines. Also, the handles are narrower and shallower. While this chef's knife is dishwasher-safe, hand washing is recommended. --Fred Brack

Perfect Chopper April 6, 2008 Capnmax (Virginia, USA) Best chopping knife I have ever used. Recommended to all kitchen for ease of use and safety. It will last a life time and sharpens easily.
Fantastic, sharp 6-inch chef's knife May 16, 2007 a_rabbit (Los Angeles, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
UPDATE (eight months later): I compared this knife to a top-of-the-line 6" knife that's twice the price and returned the expensive knife. The Henckels International was lighter, a bit sharper, had a thinner blade (slicing a bit more cleanly), and half as expensive! If I need another 6", I'm ordering this one. One reviewer of the 8" model of this knife also noted that this 6" is outstanding for the price. -- Have had this knife for a couple months. I think I made a great purchase, and I use it for cutting raw chicken and veggies. Pros: - High-quality, solid feel and construction, forged (not stamped) - Sharpest knife we own, easy to hone (much sharper than a stamped 8-inch chef's knife that was 1/3 the price) - Easy to handle because of the 6" size - Pretty decent with cuts of meat - Not SO sharp that you worry about your spouse accidentally cutting themselves Cons: - Need to hand-dry this after washing or it will stain a bit like many knives - Veggies stick to knife like any other flat blade - For big bundles of veggies, 6 inches may not be big enough

So far, we are very happy with the knife and will probably order the larger version.
Wonderful knife February 12, 2006 G. Desrosiers (Rochester, NH USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this knife for my husband as a Christmas present with the thought that I would be using it too. The main reason that I purchased it was for the size of the knife. Its a little smaller than the tradional chef's knife, but I like it better for chopping and slicing. It fits in your hand wonderfully. The quality has been great so far. I went back and forth between this knife and the model that was one step up. For the cost difference, I decided to go with this model. We use it quite a few times a week and I figured it would hold up well for household use. It's a wonderful knife for the cost.
GREAT LITTLE KNIFE August 19, 2004 A BEAR THAT COOKS (NC, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am a line-cook for a Restaurant. I use this knife alot. It gets places a "Henckels 8" chef knife" can not get in to. It has great balance and stays sharp for a long time. It is a great little knife.
