I bought this knife for my wifes birthday. She loves it. I plan to get her the whole set. They are wicked sharp!!! However your discription said it had Alton's likeness on the blade. It in fact did not. This may be trivial to some, but not me.

Outstanding knife! Great feel in the hand and, surprisingly, the angle of the blade (Alton Brown's design) seems to make slicing much easier. The blade is SHARP, as are all Shun knives. I now have 3 Shun knives and find I am ignoring all the Wustoff knives for them. And, they are beautiful (except this particular knife has a small Alton Brown graphic on the blade that looks a little silly!)

I've never bought celebrity kitchen gear before, since so much of it is more about name recognition than actual quality. The Alton Brown Shun Angled Knife is an exception to the rule. It handles great, my wrist isn't sore after an evening of cooking, and the offset handle leaves plenty of room for my hand, so I don't smack my knuckles into the cutting board when I'm slicing through ingredients. The only bad thing I can say about this knife is that it has made me realize how dull and pathetic my old knife set is!
