Not quite what I expected after reading reviews November 17, 2008 Mom of 4 After reading all of these reviews, I expected wonderful things out of this item. I purchased it to slice cured bacon. It does not slice cured bacon at all. So if you want to cut 'tough' food items, find another way.
EK700 price variation. October 24, 2008 Laredo (alabama) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
A good knife with above average slicing ability but priced $5.00 higher than offered by Black and Decker on their Web pages. B & D Lists for $14.99 Amazon selling for $19.00 to $20.00 plus shipping. Exact same knife, no accessories.
Pretty good product...... October 17, 2008 P. Caricchio (Quitman, GA) Simple to use, easy to clean and works pretty good for the money. I will put it to the real test on the holidays, but so far it works great!
great knife October 8, 2008 Joseph McKinney (St Lucie West, FL United States) Works great with roasts and bread which is all I've used it for so far.
Pretty good for its purpose October 3, 2008 L'il 1odine (The Dalles, OR USA) Arthritic hands make for difficult handling of tools. My former electric carving knife works just fine for spouse and grown children, but I was unable to keep it running long enough to make a cut. This implement allows me to depress and keep depressed the cutting trigger. I've carved some fairly tough meats and some very tender cuts. The knife has worked equally well for both. I haven't yet tried it on anything frozen. The blades are easy to attach and detach. They clean easily with a soapy sponge, and have survived the dishwasher well, too. If I have any complaints, it would be that the knife is rather heavy and my hands tire easily when using it; being tied to a cord restricts its use to the preparation area, rather than the table; and (although I thoroughly understand the reason for it) having to hold down the trigger continuously is tiring. That third reason has no validity . . . if the knife is dropped, it doesn't need to keep cutting anything it comes in touch with! All in all, this is a very satisfactory tool, especially for persons with problem hands.
