Not bad, could be better January 7, 2009 Mark Stradling (Trenton, NJ USA) To cut to the chase, I expected better from Le Creuset. It works fairly well for now, but with all the plastic I'm dubious about its longevity. Also, it seems, "sloppy" in the sense that nothing feels precise or smooth or well-machined. When the cork is extracted, I can see the screw bend and I don't know how much of that it will withstand. But we'll see; I could be wrong. I'll update this as need be.
Beats Metrokane Hands Down December 14, 2008 Bill T. (San Diego, CA United States) I previously purchase a "Metrokane Rabbit Corkscrew with Foilcutter, Silver". Save your money. The Screwpull is well worth the extra $20-$30 dollars. My Metrokane failed (the cap that holds the screw starting popping off every time I open a bottle) after less than a year. In addition, it had trouble pulling most "tight" cork and the screw quickly wore out. The Screwpull is a dream in comparison. As others have stated, the long handle results in easy, smooth pulls and the foil cutter that was included is the best I've every used.
Yes, it really does live up to all the hype June 19, 2008 P. Thompson (Columbia, MO USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We went to a party several years ago where the host had a Screwpull. Before the night was over, people were opening bottles of wine just to get a chance to see the Screwpull in action. Yes, it really does live up to all the hype. If you've ever struggled to get a bottle of wine open with a traditional screw type opener, or if you've ever had to pick bits of cork out of your wine, you will love this opener. It truly makes opening bottles of wine effortless. The minute I got home from the party that night, I got online and ordered one. I have never regretted it, nor the price I had to pay. It was worth every penny. Don't believe it? Even my 72 year old arthritic mother-in-law has no problem opening bottles of wine! If you don't believe me, order one for yourself and give it a try, you can always send it back (but I'm betting you won't!) Oh, and the next time you host a party, be sure to put your best bottles of wine in a safe place!
The only way to open a wine bottle June 19, 2008 PickyGuy (Prague, Czech Republic) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a light, well made opener that i hope will last longer than the cheap 15 dollar one I bought that worked the same way until it failed (I had it 3 years). It is easy to use, virtually foolproof, and by far the best wine bottle opener out there. Pricey but I hope that the quality is there for the long run. I'd rather spend the money up front rather than have to spend it again later for a cheap unit that doesn't work well.

Best ever! If you love wine, get one. This is made of the best material on the market. Unbelievable quality. It's so easy you'll want to cry! I'd buy one for all of my friends if I had them!!
