A great gift for a wine lover, this powerful, award-winning tool effortlessly extracts the cork from any wine bottle in 3 seconds with simple lever action. Handles with comfortable rubberized padding easily clamp onto a bottle's neck; the lever drives the tough worm into the cork with a push and then pulls the cork out cleanly with a simple pull. Releasing the cork involves the same action, only with the handles clamped onto the cork. Ruggedly constructed of polycarbonate and reinforced nylon, the cork puller has the heft of a fine, precise high-tech tool and comes by its name, Rabbit, because it resembles a bunny's head. Metrokane corkscrews are independently tested for 20,000 cork pulls; tests assume replacement of the spiral after 1,000 pulls. This model of the Rabbit has a velvety, silver finish, as do the four tools accompanying it. The tools include a squeeze-and-twist foil cutter to strip away the foil covering a cork, a drip-stop ring that fits onto any size wine bottle to prevent stains on table linen, a sealer that twists so tightly into any size bottle's neck it preserves even Champagne bubbles, and a "wax whacker" that flips the wax tablet off a wine cork. With the new rubber corks in bottles, this is the ONLY wine opener that works easily with those corks. I have tried less expensive ones only to find they don't work well. I had a Rabbit prior and wore it out!!! I was glad to find Amazon.com had them at an excellent price.

Don't waste your time on this company.
My first Rabbit had a plastic handle. When it broke after several years of use, I replaced it with a metal handle Rabbit because it had 10-year warrantee. (I think the first one had a 2-year warrantee.)
The new Rabbit malfunctioned. A mission-critical piece of rubber tore, making the Rabbit useless. I sent the Rabbit to Metrokane per the package instructions. (I paid the postage and also had to enclose a check to cover *their* mailing costs.)
A week or so later, my Rabbit was returned to me without any repairs. Their note said that they couldn't find anything wrong with the thing. I phoned Metrokane to complain. They said that the rubber was not covered by the warrantee. I was told to get rubber glue to fix the thing. I checked the warrantee. Nowhere does it say that certain parts are not covered. Finally they agreed to replace it.
The replacement was defective. The Metrokane rep. copped an attitude when I complained, saying that I was probably using it incorrectly. (Remember, I'd owned a Rabbit and had used it for years, so I'm sure I knew how to use it.)
The company wouldn't send another Rabbit and I refused to spend more money to return the second defective product. I'm using a $10 knock-off now. It works every time.

I bought this for my husband for father's day. He writes: "Good concept but not well built. Too much plastic in the handles and it bends quite a bit when the cork is tight. I sometimes need to use traditional - lever style - metal cork screw for fear of breaking this one." 2.5 stars
