This Mario Batali spatula feels like a well-tuned instrument in the hand. I also own two of the smaller Batali spatulas. I reach for these first, so I've all but given up using the favorite old wooden spoons.

This is a great product! I love the silicone, and it is very nice and sturdy, both the spatula tip and handle. I have carpal tunnel, and this utensil makes it so much easier to chop up ground beef in the pan, stir, and cook many different foods, because it is so sturdy. The shape allows you to easily scrap the sides of your pots and pans. It won't scratch your pans, and holds up to the heat. I highly recommend it!

I bought two of these large spatulas about three months ago and now wish I wouldn't have. I definitely do not use these every day because, personally, I think they are almost to big for most jobs and a little too flimsy. Even with minimal use and only hand washing, one of the spatulas is already beginning to tear.

Perhaps like you, I love silicone. This large spatula is quite nice. You can do anything with silicone. You can fry, poach, make soups, and there is never a worry about heat. Le Crueset makes fine quality silicone utensils, but their wood is unfinished, so unless you keep them oiled, they will age and spilter. These you can remove the top if you like but the wooden handles are treated, and are water resistant.
In addition to these being made for the long hall, their shape is unique. I like that the shape is slightly angled, this makes it easier to run along the edges of a bowl. I have been so happy with my purchase of these! I can't say enough good things about them. I would recommend these over other manufactors, they are better made, and improve in others weaker areas. A must have for your kitchen!
