13-Inch 'Risotto Paddle' is my Right Hand in the Kitchen August 2, 2008 MedIT Pros(+) - Very useful - Very well built - Good size Cons (-) - Unnecessary branding Verdict Buy it, but use it for more than making risotto. Long form This is a wonderful tool. I don't think I've ever used it to make risotto, but I've used it for just about everything else. I got mine from a kitchen supply store after breaking a similar (but lower quality) tool. I have no fear of ever breaking this one. Mine's about two years old and still going strong. The build quality is much higher than the average wooden kitchen utensil. Of all the things that typically live in a tangled canister on the counter this is the one I wouldn't want to be without. When I found it listed on Amazon I was first surprised to find that was marketed for single purpose when it has so many uses, and then surprised to find that it is 13' long. Thirteen inches sounded huge; however, after bit of measuring I found that 13' is actually an average size for this sort of thing. The back side of the neck of the utensil is stamped "Mario Batali" which I don't particularly like. Overall it's great!
Mario Batali Risotto Paddle June 24, 2008 Horace Alyn Bixby (El Cajon, CA United States) This is a nice paddle. I use it for more than rissoto. When cooking anything that might stick to bottom of the pot this paddle allows you to easily scrape the bottom ie soups etc.
Mario Batali 13-inch risotto paddle May 19, 2008 Douglas C. Bumgardner (Chicago, IL USA) This sturdy, well crafted, paddle is perfect for making risotta. The shape allows you to get into the corners and along the bottom to assure that nothing sticks.
perfect stirring utensil April 20, 2008 Ryan Mills (Gainesville, FL USA) This is hands-down, the ultimate stirring equipment. I hope it never breaks, but I bought five just in case.
Comfortable February 13, 2008 R. DeFeo (Stamford, CT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The contours of the risotto paddle are perfect! Its weight provides a good balance and it feels natural in your hands. I would stir my risotto with anything else!
