Amazon.com Review Classically tall and narrow to slow evaporation, this 12-quart pot is ideal for simmering soups and stocks, cooking pasta, poaching poultry, and making party foods, such as chili, when the house is rife with talk and appetite. Revere's Copper Clad cookware is made of handsome, mirror-finish, 18/10 stainless steel. Both pot and lid have big, easy-to-grip handles. Copper is cookware's best heat conductor, and each pot or pan has a copper-clad bottom that spreads heat quickly and evenly. This pot carries a 25-year warranty against defects and should be hand washed. --Fred Brack

Not the classic, but not a dud January 20, 2008 Sheryl Weidner (Redmond, WA United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased this pot at a local retailer when I discovered I needed a stainless steel pot for making cheese at home. All of my cookware, which I have been just this side of replacing for a year, is nonstick. I'm not a fan of nonstick for anything except the cleanup process -- and when it begins to deteriorate, it's flat out unheatlhy. So I was excited about the prospect of buying a nice stainless pot that I could also use in the oven. The good about this pot: - Although the copper coating on the bottom is thin, after several batches of cheese I have not seen any scorching when working on an electric coil stove. - For its size, it is very lightweight. - I have had no trouble cleaning it, even removing the residue from working with coagulated dairy products. (However, it must be cleaned properly!) - The lid seals tightly and the handles are well-made and easy to work with. - It can go from stovetop to oven, making it a viable option for recipes like goulash or roasts without having to go to a cast iron pot. - Its configuration (tall and narrow) means that it does not hang over the sides of a large coil burner and retains heat well. The negatives: - As other reviewers have stated, this is not the RevereWare of old. It is thinner, not as finely milled inside, and can't be used on glasstop surfaces. - You actually have to clean it. Many people have gotten spoiled with nonstick cookware and no longer know what it's like to have to soak and soap a pot right after using it in order to keep from ruining it. I don't personally consider this a negative, but it's definitely a consideration if you're a "cook today, clean tomorrow" kind of person. You will pay far, far more than the price of this pot for a heavy stainless or coated cast iron item of the same capacity. With a clear understanding of its limitations, I think it's an excellent addition to my kitchen.
Stockpot December 31, 2007 Adeline Dicaire (GRAND BLANC MI) beautiful looking pot and feels very solid without feeling heavy. have only used once so far, bean soup. it did not burn the beans as it simmered. nice even temperature. i am very happy with my choice and the size was just right for me & my stove.
Revere 12 Quart pot September 15, 2007 Wesley Lyons Jr. (Oswego,NY USA) The pot is ncie but of lighter weight and not as good as in the past
Too thin of a coat...good for soup cooking in large quantity August 23, 2007 M. Shaikh 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
My wife did not like this too much. Her main complaint is that it is too thin and is NOT 'nonstick' making her life miserable cleaning it.
Not for flat surface stoves October 9, 2006 Vicki Ehrhardt (Daytona Beach) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Nothing in the review said this would not work on a flat stovetop surface. I just tried to boil water and it was bouncing all over and the water was splashing out. I guess it would have been better on any other surface but I didn't find out before I bought it.
