Product Description Beautiful and practical, Le Creuset enameled steel accessories are designed to coordinate with Le Creusets classic enameled cast iron cookware. Made of heavy gauge carbon steel, Le Creuset accessories are enameled in vibrant Le Creuset colors. Truly the perfect addition to your Le Creuset collection. The enamel-on-steel construction of Le Creusets stockpots provides uniform heating for slow simmering or cooking pasta. Its tight-fitting lids seal the flavorful bouquet of time-seasoned and caring creations. The steel rims prevent chipping and the enamel interior wont absorb odors or flavors. Clean up is easy and Le Creuset stock pots are even dishwasher safe. Available in different sizes to best meet the needs of your family. Suited for making anything from pastas to lobster
Amazon.com Review Poach chickens, simmer stocks, cook pasta, or prepare a vegetable soup or classic chili in this tall, narrow, 8-quart stockpot with a tight-fitting lid. Made of heavy-gauge steel and double-coated with hard, bright enamel, the stockpot coordinates with Le Creuset's famed enameled cast-iron cookware in the French manufacturer's handsome colors and is as at home in the dining room as a serving vessel as it is in the kitchen on the stovetop or in the oven. The lid has a plastic knob that is ovenproof to 450 degrees F. Fitted with a steel rim to prevent chipping, the pot is durable enough to outlive its 101-year warranty against defects and goes safely into the dishwasher and refrigerator. --Fred Brack

3 Years and Counting--Exactly as Advertised July 22, 2008 VonTrousers (APO, AP, USA) I've had mine for three years. It still looks great. I use mine for making soup and boiling water for pasta. The key is that you have to read the description. This is not cast iron. I'm befuddled by those who ordered this and complain about not getting an iron pot. As with any product (whining Calphalon shoppers, pay attention), read the ENTIRE description. If you got what you didn't expect, it's your fault, not the manufacturer's or distributor's?
not too good January 13, 2008 J. Simpson (Texas) i would not buy another one. the lid doesn't fit tight and the bottom chipped easily. the first one i ordered was chipped when i opened the box
Just OK December 10, 2007 Sekhmet2 (Philadelphia) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this stockpot last year. I have a huge collection of Le Creuset pans and I love them all. This stockpot, however, didn't perform nearly as well as all the others. I use it mainly to make big pots of soup which I then freeze in small containers as "emergency" meals. And I noticed that there is some "crazing" of the enamel inside the bottom of the pot. I rarely use the pot on high heat, but, that's what stockpots are for...making stock! Anyway, I'm disappointed that this pot did not work as well as all my others. And, the other pots I have in my collection include the wok (which is fantastic), 2 grill pans (terrific) and many sized Dutch Ovens (love them). I will continue to use this stockpot but I have a stainless steel one that works just as well. I'll stick to stainless in this area from now on.
Serves Its Purpose November 9, 2007 TEE (Ontario, CA USA) I only use the pot to boil water in. I don't cook food in it. The non-stick enamel is very easy to clean off hard water residue. The pot did arrive with some small chipped area inside the pot, so I suppose if I actually cooked food in it, those chipped areas would get worse over time. I am totally obsessed with red but sometimes the red color can be too bright or too dark but I think that the red color on this pot is perfect and if everything else in your kitchen is red like in my kitchen this pot should blend well. Overall it serves its purpose.
Le Creuset quality - not cast iron - great price and product. July 30, 2007 anthg (Charlotte, NC) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Love this thing - owned it a year now - has great heft and balance and easy to clean. Great lines and solid construction. if anything like pasta sticks to it (and pasta sticks to anything, let's face it) then let the leftovers soak in water a couple of hours and it will all come right off. Good cooking tip. I make pasta and soup in it, boil potatoes and I've even browned meats in it. Easy to clean and looks good. Perfect size. Get it online like at Amazon for a better price than at the store.
