Great item! August 20, 2008 margered (Los Angeles) I bought this to substitute for our stovetop kettle while we were renovating our kitchen and would living in the dining room and bathroom without a stove, but with a microwave. We knew we needed coffee! I love it! Fast heating, not too wide a profile, easy to bring to the table and won't take up a burner on the stove when we eventually get the stove reinstalled. Downside, it will take up space on the counter. The kettle on the stove was always spattered from the nearby saute pan. And I bought the stovetop kettle on eBay and found out it didn't have a whistle! This electric kettle turns itself off.
OK hot pot August 17, 2008 Anonymous This hot pot is OK. It doesn't heat water as quickly as some other kettles I've had, though, so I would shell out a little more money for something more powerful. The stainless steel interior is nice.
Quick Heat and Clean Design July 30, 2008 N. T. Westbrook It heats water very quickly, I have used Plastic Tea Kettles and this is a better design, I like the fact that no cord is attaced to the Kettle and turns off automaticly when the water is boiling, so as not to run for ever and boil off all the water.
Perfect for My 100 Year Old Mother June 4, 2008 Jonathan Chace (Chestertown, Maryland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a near perfect device for my mother who is 100 years old and whose eyesight is poor. She is able to pour water into the teakettle, press the lever, and water is boiling soon for her tea. No danger of the water boiling over, no electric cords to tangle or trip over. A terrific product for her and many others, old and young.
Electric Teapot review May 22, 2008 M. G. Puziak (Willow Springs, CO) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The teapot works well, as designed. My comments: I bought the pot for my elderly Mother because she was boiling water in sauce pans and kept burning them up. I was afraid she would set the kitchen on fire. I had it sent to me to see if it was what I had imagined. First of all, it is too big and heavy for an elderly person to handle. I had tried to find one for for only two to four cups of water but could not. Next, the switch is located so that it can be bumped on or kept on if carelessy set on a small object. It would be better in the handle. The lid does not open completely so it is hard to fill. Why hot fill it through the spout and do away with the lid altogether? Also, it does not close when the tumb switch is released and has to be pushed down by the other hand. Why not make it easier to close. When the pot is picked up, the base hangs on to it and then drops on the counter. The post should be relaced by a flat surface. The water level window is hard to see. Why not put it in a more conspicuous place? This pot is bulkier than others of the same capacity. It takes up too much room in a retired person's little kitchen. A smaller footprint would be appreciated. I don't see that the metal adds anything, only volume and weight. Maybe a smaller, more compact plastic envelope would be better.
