Product Description The Pek Wine Steward Preservo reduces wasted wine so you can keep an opened bottle for an extended period of time without spoilage. The moment you open a bottle of wine, oxidation?damage caused by the exposure of wine to air?begins immediately. Oxidation can modify a young red wine's aromatic character within six to eight hours after opening. White and older red wines oxidize even more rapidly, in as little as two hours. A practiced wine palate can taste the effects of oxidation as soon as it occurs.

tried two different units - both had same problem January 21, 2008 L. Chapa 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We have similarly only been able to use a cartridge once, before a new cartridge was required. The outlet where we purchased this product had a description that led us to believe that multiple uses (on the order of approximately 15 uses) per cartridge was typical. Our usage requirement was limited to preserving a single bottle every couple of days. It would appear as if a poor seal between the gas cartridge and the unit enables the remaining gas in the cartridge to leak away before the next usage, which for us was a day or two later. This same defect was experienced in each of the two units that we tried. We tried each unit with multiple gas cartridges. We sent an e-mail to Pek asking for assistance and/or information concerning our problem, and never received a response or acknowledgment. I was only able to find an e-mail address on their web site. No phone number could be found. I would recommend that you try another product for your wine preservation needs.
No more wine down the drain December 21, 2007 J. Binkley (Connecticut) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this product. I have used it for about a year and have been able to have the same bottle of wine last all week. I didn't even realize before how much the taste was changing until I started using Pek. I have not had the same problems as the other people with the gas cartridges. I went through 8 cartridges in one year storing an average of 2-3 bottles of wine a month. Cartridges are about $12 for a 4 pack so it is a great investment if you tend to take a few days to go through wine like me. If you enjoy a glass a wine with dinner now and again and don't want to resort to wines in a box to order to enjoy the last glass, this is a great product to have.
Good idea November 8, 2007 E. Lora 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
bad implementation. Everytime I store a bottle of wine I need to use a new gas cilinder, not very cost effective in my opinion, unless you are keeping an expensive wine. I like how the bottles are displayed, though.
Buyer beware.................... September 3, 2006 J. Hegarty (Colorado Springs, CO United States) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I bought this unit thinking it would be great for my residual wine bottle storage. Turns out the cooling unit does not work. I recieved two units from PEK but both were defective. The gas delivery seems functional, but it is worth $200 for argon gas delivery. It took over a month to get the first unit. I would not recommend this product until quality control issues have been addressed.
Poor performance - a gas cylinder lasts about 1 day February 25, 2006 Bill (NJ, United States) 24 out of 25 found this review helpful
The product description sounded good, but in my unit, the argon gas cylinder last for about 1 day. So it works out at about $4 a go... Also the unit is very bulky. The gas dispense sits on top of a cheapo insulated container. Would have been far better if the gas unit was a small self contained unit, that you could use to just inject a small amount of argon into the bottle, before putting the cork back in.
